The first free Swimming and Drowning Prevention Teaching Program to be held in 2022

From June 17 - 21, 2022, the Swimming Coach Course and Drowning Prevention Summer 2022 took place, at the pool of Hoai An TDT Center in Buon Ma Thuot.

This is the opening course of the Program “Together to prevent drowning for children”, organized by the Tu Tam Dak Lak Association in cooperation with the Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Response and support units include: Provincial Children's Culture House, Hoai An TDT Center, Vietnam Institute of Safety Sciences, Department of Education and Training. The units receiving the funding and implementation combination include the Department of VHTT of Ea Hleo District, Club “For Dear Children” of Cu Mgar district.

Mr. To Thanh Vu - Director of Hoai An TDT Center (119 Nguyen Van Cu alley, Buon Ma Thuot city), sponsor of the training pool, said: “Hoai An Swimming Pool has been in operation for 4 years, the swimming pool visitors are mostly adults. Vu personally follows the current situation and sees that the number of children suffering from drowning accidents is still high, especially in the districts, so he strongly supports the introduction of the fight against this problem.”

The first class trains and certifies 38 Guides. The second class is for 86 orphans belonging to the Provincial Protection Center. Many subsequent classes held in Ea Wy commune and Ea Đăng town of Ea Hleo district, in communes of Cu Mgar district all achieved good results. The program has supported, raised gifts, totaling about 150 million VND.

Activities within the framework of the program “Teaching Swimming and Drowning Prevention for Free” in the future will be carried out by the Tu Tam Dak Lak Foundation.
