1,121 STUDENTS HAVE BEEN AWARDED THE YOUNG BANANA DROP SCHOLARSHIP

(Buon Ma Thuot)— On January 8, 2024, Tu Tam Dak Lak Association held the 17th Dap Chua Non Scholarship Ceremony for 121 students from 15 city districts in Dak Lak province. “Preparing for the 17th Don Chuo Non Scholarship Ceremony, Tu Tam Dak Lak Association has received 126 applications from more than 100 schools in 15 city districts in the province. The Program Organizing Committee reviewed and reviewed 121 cases worthy of recognition as bright examples of learning and industriousness. Of these, 15 students received Special Scholarships (5 million VND/piece, gifts, Certificates), 104 students received Extraordinary Scholarships (3 million VND/gift, certificate). There are 2 students who received special medical care assistance, each of whom was awarded VND20 million, funded by the Tu Tam Dak Lak Association for 100 million VND in 2024. The list of students approved for the scholarship shows that whether orphans, disabled, or critically ill, the will to live optimally and overcome difficulties remains the primary determinant, in order to affirm the vitality and inner strength of each individual, before receiving outside help.”

The Young Banana Drop Scholarship Program has been growing over the years, with great contributions from donors. Ms. Phan Thi Huong 47 years ago was the head teacher of the 6B class of Tiannga school poverty, and now she is also a scholarship sponsor, with a commitment since the award of this scholarship, which is coming, every year her family transfers in support of the scholarship of VND 20 million.

Incredibly valuable is the enduring charitable heart of a wounded soldier, whose family has never ceased to struggle, for the past 10 years, who has been steadily saving 1⁄3 of the invalids allowance per month, in order to contribute to the scholarship program. He was determined to remain anonymous, so we can only call him by the nickname Mr. Bao Tung Binh. Very significant, is the case of Nguyen Dung Hieu — a student who received the first Don Chuo Non Scholarship 12 years ago. When he has been working and earning a salary, regularly for the past five years, he also gives the Young Banana Drop Scholarship every year, both encouraging the later classes of children, and showing gratitude for life.

With 17 occasions of holding the Young Banana Spring Scholarship Ceremony, the Program has supported, encouraged and disseminated thousands of examples of school creativity in 3 provinces of Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, and built homes for the poor and educated without housing. In addition to the amount of scholarships and gifts awarded worth 4.7 billion VND, the Program also contributes to the education of the young generation to live beautifully, to make many contributions to the community, to cultivate the love of their homeland and country.

About the Young Banana Drop Scholarship:

In 2012, from the profits and sales of the book Positive Thinking Changes Life (third edition) by Mr. Tran Dinh Hoanh, PhD, a lawyer working and living in the United States, and the press signing book “Paradox on the Backward River” by journalist Hoang Thien Nga — Head of the Tien Phong Newspaper Representative Board in the Central Highlands region, about VND 100 million was contributed to the founding of the Tien Phong newspaper. Do Chua Non Scholarship Program, which specializes in helping poor students and students studying in the Central Highlands region. At the 17th Dap Chua Non Scholarship Ceremony, representatives of the provincial leadership also performed the ceremony of announcing the decision to establish the Tu Tam Dak Lak Foundation, recognizing the Foundation's Management Board, so that the Tam Dak Lak Foundation officially launched and started to operate. This is the Charitable Foundation of the Tu Tam Dak Lak Association, with an initial deposit of 1.3 billion VND contributed by benefactors, organized and operated in accordance with the provisions of Decree 93/2019/ND-CP, with the aim of supporting victims seriously affected by natural disasters, fires, epidemics, accidents and especially poor and vulnerable people They need the help of society.
